Orion Mall – 5 Star Hotel

The Orion Shopping Mall project, planned to be built on the site of an old industrial facility in Edirne, features a total construction area of 150,000 m². It consists of a shopping mall block spread over 3 floors and a 5-story hotel block positioned above it. The Atrium, which wraps around the hotel block in a crescent shape, creates a surprising and enjoyable circulation path within the mall. Small shops located close to the main street invite visitors inward, while the back areas house a supermarket, a bowling alley, and a cinema.

The design aims to save on lighting by utilizing skylights in the circulation paths. Additionally, the project seeks to benefit from the warmth provided by natural light. The positioning of the Atrium also allows the winter sun's heating effect to reduce the need for heating and energy. The design of the façade with enclosed and transparent surfaces reveals the architectural character of the building.
