In colloboration with Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediyesi, BRN is building Istanbul Biomethanization Facility where organic waste is processed, in order to reduce landfills and to use the capacity of them more efficiently. The construction of the facility started in 2018 within the boundaries of Eyüpsultan district, on a 25.000 square meter area and it will be producing 1,3 MWH electric energy. The facility will be producing electrical energy by obtaining Biogas from organic solid wastes such as food waste with fermentation method in anaerobic environment without oxygen.
